A new report states the recently unveiled McLaren 570S Coupe will eventually be joined by a more practical GT version and an open-top Spider.

A couple of months ago McLaren announced two additional body styles for its Sports Series are in the works and it seems the first to see the light of production day will be a gran tourer version which will focus more on practicality. As a consequence, expect a more accommodating interior cabin with additional space and also a larger trunk while the powertrain will be carried over likely without any changes. The body will obviously go through some changes to create a roomier interior, but in typical McLaren style, there will be only minor styling differences among the Sports Series models.

Sometime in 2017, a 570S Spider will join the party and it will probably look a lot like this speculative render. McLaren will likely make the roofless version almost as fast as the coupe, so the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task should be very close to the 3.2 seconds needed by the fixed roof model, even though weight will be up by around 40 kg (88 lbs).
