The extensive camouflage on this prototype is somewhat pointless taking into account the model was launched earlier this year in India so we all know how it looks like. Aside from the increased ground clearance thanks to the jacked up suspension, the vehicle will also employ plastic body cladding and is going to receive roof rails while the body is going to be slightly bigger compared to the regular i20 five-door hatchback.

This prototype spotted here is equipped with a 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which will likely be available in two states of tune: 100 PS (74 kW) and 120 PS (88 kW), with both providing a maximum torque of 172 Nm (127 lb-ft).

As for the interior cabin, it's obviously sourced from the five-door hatchback and looks quite nice for a model in this segment and at this price tag. It has a large touchscreen display and the overall quality seems to be just about ok although the all-black look is a bit dull.

We could see it as early as mid-September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and will likely be followed by other body styles such as a wagon and a higher performance N version.
