Dressed in swirly black and white camouflage, the redesigned crossover has a familiar appearance but appears to adopt a wider grille and slimmer headlights.  Moving further back, we can see door-mounted mirrors, a gently sloping roof and a prominent shoulder line.  The model also has wraparound taillights, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust system which is integrated into the rear bumper.

The 2017 Q5 is expected to ride on the MLB Evo platform and weigh significantly less than its predecessor.  Engine options will likely carryover from the 2016 A4 so expect an assortment of familiar petrol and diesel units including a 2.0 TFSI that produces 252 PS (185 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque.
