Vauxhall has announced the latest iteration of the VXR8 GTS will be priced from £54,509 OTR.

The company declined to mention any changes but the VXR8 GTS is essentially a rebadged HSV GTS so it features an aggressive front fascia, LED daytime running lights and 20-inch forged alloy wheels with Continental ContiSport Contact 5P tires.

Moving on to the interior, drivers will find black leather sport seats, suede accents and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.  The model also has heated front seats, a dual-zone climate control system and an infotainment system with an eight-inch display.  Other highlights include a heads-up display, a Bose audio system and alloy pedals.

A supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine resides under the hood and continues to produce 576 bhp (429 kW) and 545 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque.  It can be connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.  Regardless of which gearbox is selected, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

According to Vauxhall's Stuart Harris, "The very fact that cars like the VXR8 GTS still exist proves that there is a small, but immensely passionate band of customers out there who want to drive something which is unique and special."  He went on to say "In its GTS form the VXR8 offers colossal power and torque in a package that is more technology-led than ever before, yet still retains that unique VXR8-character that no BMW or Mercedes can match."
