Renault-Nissan has announced plans to launch an all-new Datsun model in 2016.

Renault-Nissan has announced plans to launch an all-new Datsun model in 2016.

The company is keeping details under wraps but they confirmed the model will be based on the same CMF-A architecture that underpins the Renault Kwid.

Little else is known about the model but the Kwid measures 3.68 meters long and 1.58 meters wide and is powered by a 0.8-liter engine that is connected to a five-speed manual transmission.

In related news, Renault-Nissan says they "posted record synergies of €3.80 billion in 2014" with the biggest contributors coming from manufacturing, purchasing and engineering.  The companies went on to say the launch of the first Common Module Family (CMF) vehicles helped drive synergies in all three areas.
