Cheap cars don't necessarily have to look bland and Russian automaker AvtoVAZ is trying to prove that with their two upcoming products. The first one to hit the market will be a very affordable small sedan called Vesta set to replace the Priora and it has been previewed by a very appealing concept while pre-production started back in February. It's a no-frills model in the same vein as the Dacia Logan, but aims to attract the young audience with its rather bold look that has been mostly carried over from concept to production.

The Lada Vesta rides on the company's own C platform and will go on sale this fall after production will begin on September 25. It will likely be offered exclusively with a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine in three states of tune: 87 bhp, 106 bhp and 114 bhp, but we are not sure about these figures since the differences are very small.

Moving onto the XRAY, it doesn't look like a regular small crossover as it's more like a high-riding hatchback. As a matter of fact, Lada has described the two previewing concepts as hatchback-styled SUVs and we know it will be largely based on the Dacia Sandero Stepway.

More details about the XRAY should emerge in the months to come as the model should go on sale at the beginning of 2016.
