General Motors recently announced plans to invest $245 (€215.8) million into their Orion Assembly plant to build a mysterious an all-new model and a recent report is indicating it will be an entry-level Cadillac crossover.

While nothing is official, a source told Motor Trend the model will be a "crossover with no predecessor" and the "gaps in [Cadillac's] product lineup are obvious."  That's a little vague but it suggests the company will produce an all-new crossover to slot beneath the XT5.

Little else is known about the model but speculation suggests it will be either the XT1 or the XT3.  The XT1 will reportedly compete with the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA, while the XT3 will battle the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC.
