Sources close to Ferrari have told GTSpirit the upgraded F12 Berlinetta will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

It was only last week when we heard a spicy rumor about the beefed up F12 which stipulated a bump in output from 740 PS (545 kW) to at least 780 PS (574 kW), but now the latest gossip indicates the GTO version (name not confirmed) will offer as much as 800 PS (588 kW).

It is believed some of the additional oomph will be possible by implementing the HY-KERS system from the LaFerrari along with other bits and pieces sourced from the flagship prancing horse. The extra horsepower will be combined with an estimated weight loss of 100 kg (220 lbs) and a more aggressive body while some interior cabin tweaks are also planned.

The same report specifies Ferrari plans on making only 650 units of the F12 GTO and they will kick off deliveries Q2 2016.
