The new CLS will obviously be based on the next generation E-Class and could be renamed CLE if we were to use the new naming formula implemented recently by Mercedes-Benz. Seen here is RM Design's vision of the elegant four-door coupe which he envisioned with the "upside down" front grille applied on the AMG GT3 racecar and soon to be implemented on the facelifted SL.

The sloping roofline oozes sleekness while the back of the car mixes up styling cues from the AMG GT and S-Class Coupe along with a subtle diffuser flanked by two trapezoidal exhaust tips.

It's too early to tell whether this artistic impression has anything to do with the real deal as so far we haven't heard anything about a new CLS which will probably see the light of production day in the second half of 2017 or early 2018.
