Ford has announced a series of updates to the 2016 F-150.

While we've already covered the new Pro Trailer Backup Assist system and the CNG/Propane fuel prep package, the automaker has announced the popular pickup will be offered with their new SYNC 3 infotainment system which promises to be faster and more intuitive than the previous fiasco known as MyFord Touch.  The model also has newly optional 20-inch machined aluminum wheels and a revised color palette that includes Shadow Black and Lithium Gray (which replace Tuxedo Black and Guard Metallic).

XLT and Lariat variants can also be equipped with a new Special Edition Package that includes tinted headlights, black running boards and unique 20-inch aluminum wheels.  The package also includes a dark anodized grille, bodyside graphics and an upgraded interior with red contrast stitching and two-tone seats with Alcantara inserts.
