Rally legend Walter Rohrl has crashed a Porsche 918 Spyder with the Weissach package
Rohrl took the supercar for a ride on the Circuit Sachsenring in Germanny but lost control on one of the turns and hit the barriers. He somehow managed to reduce the speed of the impact and luckily escaped the crash with no injuries. The pilot commented to AutoBild that maybe there was something wrong with the surface on that corner and that’s the reason for the accident.
Walter Rohrl, born in Regensburg, participated in 75 WRC starts, winning 14 of them. He registered two championship triumphs in 1980 and 1982. Between 1973 and 1987 he raced for Porsche, Fiat, Opel, Lancia and Audi.
