General Motors has announced plans to invest $245 (€215.8) million into their Orion Assembly plant to launch an all-new model that is "unlike any in the plant’s 32-year history."

Little is known about the mystery model but GM North America vice president of Manufacturing and Labor Relations, Cathy Clegg, said "The plant is up to the challenge of building this brand-new product, something it’s never seen before.” That's not much to go on but a GM spokesperson told Automotive News the vehicle would go into production in the next three or four years.

Whatever it is, it will be build alongside the Chevrolet Bolt which is expected to cost approximately $30,000 and have a range in excess of 200 miles (322 km).
