We're just days away from the official unveiling of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze and new details are starting to emerge about the upcoming model.

According to sources who spoke to Automotive News, Chevrolet showed a Cruze hatchback to dealers at a meeting in Las Vegas last week.  The sources didn't have much to say about the car but it will reportedly be offered in the United States for the first time.

A Chevrolet spokesperson declined to confirm the news but GM Executive Vice President of Global Product Development, Mark Reuss, has previously said the decision not to offer a Cruze hatchback in the United States was a "pre-bankruptcy planning mistake."
