The latest generation MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) has already received the aftermarket treatment from Maxi-Tuner.

Revealed towards the end of last year, the hottest of the MINI hatches packs a more than generous 231 PS (170 kW) punch from its four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can generate up to 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). Horsepower is up by 10% while torque has increased by 23% compared to the previous generation, but for those who are in need of even more power there's an upgrade kit from Maxi-Tuner.

They can add 29 PS (21 kW) and 70 Nm (52 lb-ft) through a plug-in play ECU remap boosting total output to 260 PS (191 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft). Aside from the power bump, the optimizations implemented by the tuner also bring better throttle response and there’s also an optional €990 sport exhaust system with flap control and equipped with 70mm tailpipes or you can keep the standard tips provided by MINI.

There's no word about performances, but obviously it's quicker than the standard MINI JCW which sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.3 seconds with the standard manual gearbox and in 6.1s with the optional six-speed Steptronic automatic which has launch control.
