Dutch specialty marque Donkervoort has introduced the limited-run D8 GTO “1000 Miglia Edition.”
The D8 GTO served as the Official Support Car at this year's edition of the Mille Miglia so Donkervoort has decided to celebrate this achievement by launching a special edition of which only 25 units will be produced. It has been tweaked to serve as a tourer and as a consequence the company's engineers have worked on making the car more comfortable rather than keeping it track-focused.
Power comes from a detuned version of the 2.5-liter TFSI engine sourced from Audi which in this application produces 310 bhp (231 kW) wrapped around in a body weighing 760 kg (1,675 lbs) which is more compared to previous models that made more extensive use of carbon fiber.
It comes with a higher driving position and has received adjustable comfort shock absorbers and a more classic dashboard with conventional dials and phone & navigation access in the cockpit. Donkervoort also slapped on some special logos and badges both inside and out to denote the exclusivity of this version which starts at €115,000, without VAT while at home in The Netherlands it begins at €139,150 (including VAT).
