Chrysler has announced the 300 SRT will not make a return to the United States market.

More than three weeks ago we shared a batch of spy photos showing what appeared to be an undisguised prototype of the 2016 Chrysler 300 SRT facelift. It was caught on camera testing in Michigan, thus fueling rumors about a U.S. return but unfortunately that won't happen as a couple of FCA spokesman said the model won't be sold stateside.

As a consequence, expect the revised high-powered sedan to be sold only overseas probably with the same HEMI V8 6.4-liter engine pushing out 485 bhp (361 kW) and 475 lb-ft (643 Nm) of torque channeled to the rear axle via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2016MY will bring a different front grille, reshaped bumper and extra LED lighting while the rear end will host a spoiler mounted on the trunk, different taillight graphics and a dual exhaust setup.
