A fully camouflaged prototype of Seat's first ever SUV has been caught on camera testing in the night hours.

Spanish marque SEAT officially announced its intentions of coming out with an SUV back in March at the Geneva Motor Show where they unveiled the 20V20 concept. It will make the transition to a production model next year and now our spies have caught on camera a massively disguised prototype which upon first sight appears to be a three-door but rest assure it has a more practical five-door body style.

It will be one of the models part of a massive €4.2 billion investment prepared by Volkswagen through 2019. The compact SUV will ride on the familiar MQB platform and will come with standard front-wheel drive layout but select engines will be optionally paired to an all-wheel drive system with electronically-controlled Haldex 5 coupling.

The engine lineup will comprise four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines available across VAG's compact models. Depending on engine choice, SEAT will be offering a 6-speed manual and a DSG transmission.

Following the introduction of a 20V20 production version, SEAT will probably introduce a smaller high-riding model based on the next generation Ibiza.
