Toyota has been named the most valuable automotive brand in the in the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2015 study.

Toyota has been named the most valuable automotive brand in the in the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2015 study.

According to the study, Toyota has a brand value of $28.9 billion which puts ahead of BMW ($26.3 billion) and Mercedes ($21.7 billion).  Rounding out the remaining seven slots were Honda, Ford, Nissan, Audi, Volkswagen, Land Rover and Lexus.

While the value of the top ten brands climbed, the report says "Carmakers enjoyed strong sales in the US and China, but Europe’s economic problems hurt results. Of the 13 categories studied in this BrandZ report, cars is one of two categories that hasn’t rebounded in brand value to its pre-recession level."
