An undisguised prototype of the 2016 Audi SQ7 has been spotted conducting final testing around the Nürburgring.

At a first glance it appears to look just about the same as the regular second generation Q7, but upon closer inspection you will notice it has slightly different bumpers, a quad exhaust system and beefier brakes. Stepping inside the cabin, there's an SQ7 logo on the analog tachometer but most likely Audi will offer the SQ7 with the optional virtual cockpit.

Audi has already announced the hot Q7 will be powered by an e-turbo V8 diesel engine and it is believed it will have a 4.0- or 4.2-liter displacement and should produce more than 400 bhp (298 kW). It will be enough to grant the SQ7 with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in five and a half seconds and a top speed close to the 186 mph (300 km/h) mark.

Chances are Audi will introduce the SQ7 at a major auto show in the first half of 2016.
