According to Jalopnik's sources, the 2016 Camaro will be offered with three different engines.  The entry-level model will reportedly have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 270 bhp (201 kW) and 290 lb-ft (392 Nm) of torque.

Buyer looking for something more powerful can opt for a new 3.6-liter V6 which produces 330 bhp (246 kW) and 275 lb-ft (372 Nm) of torque.  We can also expect a high-performance Camaro SS with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that cranks out 440 bhp (328 kW) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque.

To put those numbers into perspective, the entry-level Mustang has a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 300 bhp (223 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) of torque, while the mid-level model has a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 310 bhp (231 kW) and 320 lb-ft (433 Nm) of torque.  Likewise, the Mustang GT boasts a 5.0-liter V8 with 435 bhp (324 kW) and 400 lb-ft (541 Nm) of torque.
