Hennessey is selling a Lotus Elise/Exige-based Venom GT for a cool $1.4 million.

The American tuner says it was created for those who find the Bugatti Veyron "a little too tame" as this heavily reworked Lotus has managed to achieve a verified top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) at the Kennedy Space Center more than a year ago. Its performance numbers are indeed staggering as the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) takes 2.7 seconds, 0-100 mph (0-161 km/h) is done in 5.6 seconds and 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) is accomplished in 14.51 seconds.

It tips the scales at 1,244 kg (2,743 lbs) and is powered by a massive 7.0-liter V8 twin-turbo developing 1,244 bhp (928 kW) at 6,600 rpm and 1,155 lb-ft (1,564 Nm) of torque at 4,400 rpm sent to the wheels through a six-speed Ricardo manual gearbox.

All that power has to be matched with some beefy brakes and this Venom GT comes with carbon ceramic rotors with six-piston Brembo fixed calipers to stop those 19-inch front & 20-inch rear H10 forged monoblock wheels wrapped around in 265/30ZR19 front & 345/30ZR20 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
