UK media is reporting the Jaguar XE will spawn an R version with a V8 engine borrowed from the F-Type.

It will act as a direct adversary for the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63, with power coming from a supercharged V8 engine developing 488 bhp (364 kW) and 461 lb-ft (625 Nm) which will be enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in less than 5 seconds. It will use the XE-S's adaptive dampers but retuned for this higher performance application while the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission will be tweaked to provide more aggressive shifts when manual mode is enabled.

Further down the line, Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division will work on a range-topping SVR variant equipped with a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine from the F-Type R Coupe where it develops 542 bhp (404 kW) and 501 lb-ft (680 Nm). Aside from receiving a power hike, the XE SVR will also go on a diet thanks to carbon fiber while the body is bound to receive some aerodynamic tweaks.

The report also specifies there's going to be a 488 bhp F-Pace R followed by a higher specification F-Pace SVR by SVO in case there will be enough demand for a more hardcore version of Jaguar's first ever crossover. Lastly, an F-Type SVR has already been confirmed and will allegedly have more than 600 bhp (447 kW).
