Our friends at IndianAutosBlog have published several spy shots with Renault's upcoming entry-level model for emerging markets.

Codenamed "XBA", the low-cost hatchback will reportedly get the "Kayou" moniker and will be available initially only in emerging markets such as India. However, later during the car's lifespan it could make the trip to Europe where it will use the Dacia badge and sit below the Sandero. The petite vehicle is based on the CMF-A platform and will be built in Oragadam, Chennai in India where it's getting a small 800cc three-cylinder gasoline engine with 45-50 bhp teamed up with a 5-speed manual and an automated manual transmission.

As far as the Dacia version is concerned, latest gossip indicates the model will be built in Morocco and will likely get a different name suitable for the old continent. If green-lighted for Europe, expect a starting price of less than €5,000.
