Several prototypes of the Ferrari 488 have been recently caught in camera in Maranello, Italy, near the factory of the company.
While this is not the first time we see the 488 GTB in the flesh, the open-top version of the latest supercar of the company is virtually making its spy debut through this new video. There’s actually still nothing to report about the convertible as the only thing worth noting is that Ferrari is probably going to use the same electric-operated metal roof as in the 458 Spider, judging by the video. No other changes compared to the 488 GTB can be seen at this early stage of development.
A look back at the 458 Italia and the 458 Spider suggests we could see the 488 Spider (name not confirmed) about two years after the 488 GTB official premiere, which means a debut could happen in early 2017 or so.
