BMW has announced plans to offer all models in UK with standard satellite navigation starting September.

Good news for those who are planning to get a BMW in United Kingdom as the Bavarian marque is happy to announce sat-nav will be standard from September 2015 onwards. It will happen even sooner for the 2-Series Convertible and 2-Series Active Tourer as the cars will be getting it in July. In addition, the Z4 will benefit from BMW Professional Navigation as standard from July.

This means that every single BMW model in the company's UK portfolio will soon feature a standard 6.5-inch high definition screen working together with an iDrive controller. Upgrade to the aforementioned Professional Navigation and you receive a larger 8.8-inch display available at an extra £900 on the 1-Series hatchback and 2-Series Coupe while on the 2-Series Active Tourer and 2-Series Gran Tourer it costs £1,395 (including BMW Head up Display). Both prices take into account a new permanent discount.

BMW estimates that by adding standard sat-nav it will increase residual value between £300 and £600, depending on the model.
