UK specialty company Lanzante is reportedly planning to turn the McLaren P1 GTR into a road-legal model.

McLaren has sold so far more than 40 units of the track-only P1 GTR to customers who already have the P1 in their garages. It seems there's enough demand for a road-going P1 GTR as Lanzante has decided to take the responsibility of making the necessary changes to grant the P1 GTR with road legal status.

It is believed the first conversions will meet European and Middle Eastern road regulations, but Lanzante is also analyzing the prospects of converting the vehicle to comply with the regulations applicable in other markets as well.

McLaren and MSO will not be directly involved in the conversion process, but they have given Lanzante the approval and are willing to cooperate to make sure the P1 GTR conversion to a road-legal car will be a success.
