Porsche has finally unlocked the Cayman's full potential by releasing a hardcore manual-only GT4 version which they say can lap the 'Ring in 7 minutes and 40 seconds. Christian Gebhardt from Sport Auto took the potent coupe for a spin on the Nordschleife and was only two seconds slower than the official time posted by Porsche. He also drove the car on the Hockenheimring (short version) and lapped the circuit in 1 minute and 10.1 seconds.

Equipped with a flat-six 3.8-liter engine pushing out 385 PS (283 kW), you would think there isn't room left for improvements for the Cayman but Porsche recently announced they are analyzing the prospects of coming out with a Cayman GT4 RS which would probably pack more power in a lighter package compared to the regular model which weighs 1,340 kg (2,954 lbs).
