The Contera MD1 was designed and built by David Halford and Michail Papastergiou who took their inspiration from Group C racecars.

It adopts a central driving position with two passenger seats just like the McLaren F1 while for power they used a twin-turbo 3.0-liter Lexus/Yamaha engine developing 300 bhp (224 kW) and 379 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. However, David says they are able to squeeze no less than 600 bhp (447 kW) from the same engine while upon customer request they can install just about any type of V6 to V12 as the engine bay can accommodate a wide variety of motors.

The Contera MD1 costs £55,000 (about $82,230 / €74,660) in standard configuration and comes equipped with climate control, rearview camera, electric windows, 100-liter fuel tank and speed-sensitive steering.
