Nissan is introducing a newly developed "GYM" button available on the X-Trail and Qashqai crossovers.

Those who want to lose a few pounds and are on the look for a new car should visit a Nissan dealership as the X-Trail and Qashqai can now be ordered with a GYM button. Once pressed, it will turn off all of the driver assistance systems to allow "commuters to get their very own workout at the wheel." It also deactivates the self-parking system and shuts down power steering and electric windows.

Moreover, the X-Trail or Qashqai with the GYM function turned on will have an increased resistance in the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals while the gate of the gearbox is going to be stiffened. The car's infotainment system will register the calories burned and will track the driver's progress through a new app called "Gym and Go."

Following a study conducted by the University of Lura in Sweden, the GYM button was developed in collaboration with personal trainer Raol Pofil who says the driver will be able to burn approximately 1,415 calories each week.
