Toyota has released new details and footage of the 2015 TS040 Hybrid.

Set to enter competition later this year, the 2015 TS040 Hybrid features a number of improvements including a revised front end, an improved crash structure and new suspension kinematics which will extend the life of the tires.  The model is also lighter than its predecessor and features two aerodynamic packages - a Le Mans package for high speed tracks and a sprint package which generates higher levels of downforce.

Toyota will field two cars this year and they will be driven by Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima as well as Alex Wurz, Stéphane Sarrazin and Mike Conway.

As a refresher, the TS040 Hybrid has a hybridized powertrain that consists of a 3.7-liter V8 engine and two electric motors.  It enables the race car to produce a combined maximum output in excess of 1,000 PS (735 kW).
