A prototype of the 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty was spotted undergoing final testing in United States.

The last time our spy photographers captured the F-250 on camera it had a heavy amount of camouflage, but now the massive disguise has been replaced with a thin layer of camo showing more of the all-aluminum body. A fully revealing image emerged onto the web earlier this month which means an official reveal is nearby, possibly as early as next week at the New York Auto Show.

Details about the F-250 Super Duty are not available at this point, but expect a massive weight loss thanks to the aluminum body which shaved off 700 lbs (317 kg) from the F-150's weight. We remind you the outgoing 2015 F-250 tips the scales at 5,941 lbs (2,694 kg) in 4x2 specification and at 6,351 lbs (2,800 kg) when equipped with a 4x4 setup.

As far as the engines are concerned, the 6.2-liter V8 with 385 bhp & 405 lb-ft and the 6.7-liter Power Stroke with 440 bhp & 860 lb-ft will likely be carried over but with some revisions to boost fuel economy and possibly add power.

Following a possible New York debut, the 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty should go on sale towards the end of the year.
