You probably have already heard Clarkson has officially been suspended by the BBC after hitting Oisin Tymon, a Top Gear assistant producer. Now, it seems JC's days at BBC are numbered as a source close to the 54-year-old presenter says he plans on leaving the corporation even if the scandal won't have any other repercussions. It is believed Clarkson told his friends that he didn't actually punch Tymon, but did admit there were some "handbags and pushing" over the incident.

If Jeremy Clarkson does indeed leave BBC, this could be the end of Top Gear as without him Richard Hammond and James May will probably leave the show as well. Speaking of Top Gear, it seems the remaining two episodes of series 22 won't be aired at all. The current contract of all three presenters with BBC for Top Gear will come to an end next month.

As a final note, when we wrote yesterday about the "Bring Back Clarkson" petition on change.org it had almost 160,000 supporters, but now the number has jumped to almost 700,000.
