Koenigsegg is about to build two models in parallel for the first time, but this isn’t the biggest surprise to come from the Swedish manufacturer, as it has emerged it is planning a four-door model for the near future.

Speaking to TopGear at the Geneva Motor Show, the company’s boss Christian von Koenigsegg commented there’s a chance for such a car to be manufactured. “Yes, I can imagine a car like that,” he told the magazine. “Maybe within the next five years, possibly earlier than that”.

On the other hand, von Koenigsegg declined rumors the supercar producer will make a smaller model to compete the Porsche 911, Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 650 S. “To me, in the last few years, that sector - the 911, the McLaren, the Ferrari 458 etc. - is a hornet's nest which I want to stay well away from”.
