Theophilus Chin has digitally imagined the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack in the sedan guise.

Volkswagen took the wraps off the Passat Alltrack several days ago and just like before it's based on the Variant version but Theophilus Chin decided to show us how the slightly more rugged styling could be applied on the sedan. Such a niche model would follow the same philosophy as the Volvo S60 Cross Country, a sedan featuring an increased ride height, subtle body cladding and an all-wheel drive layout (optional on the S60 CC).

As you can imagine, it would be very easy for Volkswagen to launch the Passat Alltrack in a sedan version since it would require only minimal hardware changes. However, the Variant-based model is probably enough for VAG taking into account many customers prefer buying crossovers and SUVs rather than jacked up sedans & wagons.

The Volkswagen Passat Alltrack with standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and XDS+ electronic differential lock will be on display starting March 3 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show before going on sale later this year with one of the following engines: 150 HP 1.4 TSI, 220 HP 2.0 TSI and a 2.0 TDI available with 150 HP, 190 HP and 240 HP.
