Opel has announced a number of efficiency improvements to the Astra 1.6 CDTI.

Opel has announced a number of efficiency improvements to the Astra 1.6 CDTI.

While the model was introduce just over a year ago, the company has installed optimized drive shafts and improved low rolling-resistance tires. The engine also has an improved combustion process which helps to further reduce emissions.

Thanks to these modifications, the Astra 1.6 CDTI with 110 PS (81 kW) now returns 3.6 L/100km (65.3 mpg US / 78.4 mpg UK) and has CO2 emissions of 94 g/km - improvements of 0.1 L/100km and 3 g/km, respectively

Likewise, the 136 PS (110 kW) variant now consumes 3.7 L/100km (63.5 mpg US / 76.3 mpg UK) and have CO2 emissions of 99 g/km. These are improvements of 0.2 liters and 5 g/km.
