Jaguar is putting the finishing touches on the 2016 XF, so our artists have created a rendering of what the car could look like.

While the rendering isn't completely realistic, it shows the car will have a sporty front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by large air intakes and slender headlights. The model also has a sculpted hood, metallic accents and new character lines.

Jaguar hasn't said much about the model but it is expected to ride on an extended version of the iQ[Al] platform that underpins the entry-level XE sedan. This could enable the car to weigh up to 100 kg (220 lbs) less than its predecessor.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but there should be an assortment of Ingenium four-cylinder engines as well as a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that develops 340 bhp (253 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. The supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine should also carryover with minor modifications for improved performance.
