At last year's NAIAS we saw the Sport Sedan concept and now it has evolved into a production car taking the shape of the next-gen Maxima ready to come out for the 2016 model year. The vehicle was previewed by Nissan through their emotional "With Dad" ad that came out during last night's Super Bowl when the GT-R LM NISMO was fully revealed.

Getting back to the new Maxima, it looks significantly different than the outgoing model and represents an interesting take on the sedan body style but chances are the styling won't be to everyone's liking. Nissan North America Chairman Jose Munoz already hinted last year the car would look a lot like the Sport Sedan concept so the final design shouldn't be that surprising.

Little else is known about the car, but chances are it will be fully unveiled at the New York Auto Show set to kick off on April 1 with the first press day. The latest gossip says Nissan will install a V6 3.5-liter engine developing at least 260 bhp (194 kW) but nothing is official at this point.
