Mazda has released finally released performance specifications for the 2016 MX-5.

While the company declined to provide full details, they confirmed the 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol engine will produce 129 bhp (131 PS / 96 kW) and 110 lb-ft (150 Nm) of torque.

Mazda declined to say how much the 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine will produce but Driving.ca is reporting it will have 155 bhp (157 PS / 115 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque. If this number pans out, the new model will be less powerful than its predecessor which has a 2.0-liter engine that develops up to 167 bhp (169 PS / 124 kW) and 140 lb-ft (190 Nm) of torque.
