BMW has unveiled their Super Bowl commercial, ahead of this weekend's game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

Featuring Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel, the clip is dubbed “Newfangled Idea" and takes the former Today show hosts back to 1994 when they couldn't gasp what the internet was. Their confusion continues today as they failed to explain the BMW i3.

According to BMW of North America Vice President of Marketing Trudy Hardy, “In 1994, people had not yet grasped what the internet was, which is similar to how electric mobility is viewed today." She added, "Electric mobility is at a tipping point. We are on the verge of something great and we hope that with this spot, we can educate audiences about the BMW i3 and e-mobility in a fun and engaging way.”
