Jaguar generated a lot of controversy after naming its first crossover "F-Pace" and now Theophilus Chin decided to render a new model with a funny name denoting an emoticon. The "XD" is a rear-wheel drive hatchback envisioned as a direct adversary for the BMW 1-Series facelift and other premium compact hatches.

Jaguar could decide in the years to come to expand the XE portfolio with a second body style taking the shape of a hatchback which could look a lot like this. It would provide the same interior space as the sedan but with the added practicality of a hatch opening while a slightly shorter rear overhang could be more appealing to some potential customers who wouldn't mind a slight decrease in trunk space compared to the sedan's 485 liters capacity.

It's too early to expect a second XE model from Jaguar as deliveries of the sedan haven't even kicked off yet. Clients in Europe will start receiving their cars in May while North America will get it a few months later as a 2016MY.

It should be mentioned Jaguar has already hinted the XE family could be expanded with coupe, wagon and convertible versions while a long wheelbase model is also being considered.
