The North American International Auto Show continues as Ram has introduced the 1500 EcoDiesel HFE.

Designed to deliver classing-lead fuel efficiency, the EcoDiesel HFE features a body-colored front fascia, side steps and a tri-fold tonneau cover. These are relatively minor changes but Ram says they give the truck "best-in-class aerodynamics contributing to better fuel efficiency."

Power is provided by a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that produces 240 bhp (179 kW) and 420 lb-ft (568 Nm) of torque. It enables the truck to return 21 mpg city / 29 mpg highway / 24 mpg combined.

According to Ram Truck CEO Bob Hegbloom, “Fuel efficiency is at the top of truck buyers’ priorities and Ram is the recognized benchmark for the industry. Twenty-nine miles per gallon cuts through the clutter. Ram invested in powertrain technologies and those are paying real dividends in the wallets of our customers.”

The Ram EcoDiesel HFE will go on sale in the first quarter of 2015 and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
