Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image depicting their autonomous driving concept set to be unveiled next week.

Daimler is ready to jump on the autonomous driving bandwagon with an interestingly shaped concept featuring an aerodynamic styling and a very low roofline. The vehicle has extremely short front and rear overhangs while from previous spy shots we noticed the big alloy wheels and a brake light extending on the entire rear end of the car.

The concept seems to carry some bulk on its roof where Mercedes-Benz has probably installed some of the cameras and radars that help the vehicle drive itself. The short overhangs have probably enabled a very spacious interior cabin where there should be lounge-style front seats that can swivel to face the rear ones.

Since this is a concept, expect premium materials including a wood floor and possibly a central table. The vehicle will likely have a large dashboard equipped with a massive full-length infotainment system packing several touchscreen displays.

Mercedes-Benz has announced the concept will be unveiled by Daimler chairman Dr. Dieter Zetsche at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 5 at 8:00 PM PDT.
