The Blue Oval company has recently registered the "EcoBeast" name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Ford filed the application on December 22 under the Goods and Services category of "automobiles and automobile engines." This doesn't necessarily mean the moniker will be used in the near future on a product as Ford might just want to protect the name and keep it to themselves for later use. Whatever it will be, chances are the EcoBeast designation will be applied on a product (possibly the engine) related to the F-150 for a successor of the Raptor variant which has been spied recently.

Whatever it will be, maybe Ford will shed some light regarding this matter next month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit where the Shelby GT350R, GT successor, new F-150 Raptor, new Focus RS (with AWD) are believed to make an appearance.
