Tourists visiting Russia are able to take a joyride in an armored reconnaissance vehicle now being used as a taxi.

According to Russia Today, the BRDM APC (Combat Command and Reconnaissance Vehicle) fulfilled its role for the military and has been recently granted a taxi permit in Saint Petersburg even though initially the application was refused. It received permission after the camo pattern was removed and instead a red hue was selected rather than the usual yellow.

Due to its massive weight of 7,900 kg (17,416 lbs), the vehicle can’t be used on certain streets in the historical center of Russia’s second largest city. A ride in the vehicle costs 5,000 rubles (about $89) and aside from being armored, it’s also amphibious and can travel on virtually any type of terrain. On the inside it gets electric windows and leather while the passengers are protected by 14mm (0.5 inches) thick armor.
