A General Motors representative has announced the Corvette C7 design will influence the styling of upcoming Chevrolet models.

In an interview with Automotive News, GM global design boss Ed Welburn said some of the Corvette Stingray's styling will rub off on future Chevrolet cars. He went on to say the Malibu, Cruze and Volt will be among the first to receive this treatment and we should expect to see a fresh implementation of the Corvette's hood described as being "taut, very lean, very sporty."

Although criticized by many people, the squared-off taillights of the C7 will be seen "in all other Chevrolets, I think in a very positive way" according to Welburn. Chevrolet global chief Alan Batey said recently in an interview these tweaks will help elaborate a "stunning design" for upcoming models.

As a final note, we remind you Chevrolet will introduce the all-new Volt next month in Detroit at NAIAS while the next-gen Malibu will be out a few months later.
