The Chevrolet Equinox has been largely untouched ever since it was introduced in 2009 but a new report is indicating the 2016 model will receive a number of updates.

According to Edmunds' sources, the facelifted model will go on sale late next year and feature a new front fascia and a revised grille that echoes the Traverse. The interior is also expected to be updated but nothing is official as of yet.

When asked for details, Chevrolet Car and Crossover Marketing Manager Steve Majoros told the publication the Equinox is an important model and the facelifted version will be introduced in a "couple of months." This likely means we can expect it to debut at an auto show early next year.
