Sebastien Loeb has teamed up with Sora Racing to create the LAS Motorsport team and a new LMP3 race car for the upcoming racing season.
The vehicle that still has to be named will soon hit the track for first tests. It will feature a Nissan-sourced 5.0-liter V8 engine, full safety closed-top and two seats and will be available in two versions – an LMP3 version with 420 HP (309 kW) and an LMP Challenge variant with 500 HP (368 kW).
LAS Motorsport says the car aims to “provide teams with a low-cost, turn-key and easy to drive prototype”. The LMP3 version will be eligible for European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and Asian Le Mans Series (AsLMS), while the Challenge modification will be offered to track day enthusiasts who “would like to have a first taste of Le Mans Prototypes competition”.
