Suzuki has announced the Kizashi and Escudo / Grand Vitara are no longer being manufactured.

Today we bring bad news from Japan where a Suzuki spokesperson told Just-Auto the Kizashi and Grand Vitara have been axed, thus confirming rumors about their cancellation. It shouldn't come as a big surprise taking into account a year ago Suzuki admitted launching the Kizashi was a mistake and at that point they also said the chances of seeing a successor are slim.

As for a new Escudo / Grand Vitara, Suzuki told Australian media back in October that a replacement for the aging model which has been on sale since 2005 is unlikely to happen.

We remind you that Suzuki UK sales and marketing boss Dale Wyatt recently spoke to British media and revealed plans for six new cars set to be launched until 2017. Celerio and Vitara are coming in 2015 and will be followed by a new hatchback bigger than the Swift likely to be called "Baleno." Up next will be a sister car to the Celerio but with a more attractive design, followed by a next-gen Swift and a Jimny replacement.
