Cadillac has introduced the 2015 ATS-V.R at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Set to enter competition next year, the ATS-V.R has an aerodynamic body kit that includes a new front fascia, a carbon fiber front splitter and carbon fiber canards. The car also has carbon fiber side skirts and a prominent rear wing. Other notable changes include a full-length underbody tray, a side exiting exhaust and 18-inch BBS wheels with racing tires.

Motivation is provided by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine that features larger BorgWarner turbochargers, larger capacity intercoolers, a carbon fiber air intake and a competition engine management system. Thanks to these modifications, it develops up to 600 bhp (447 kW) and 520 lb-ft (704 Nm) of torque.

The race car also has Brembo brakes, a roll cage and a driver adjustable electronic traction control system. There's also a limited slip differential and a six-speed Xtrac sequential transmission with paddle shifters.

In a statement Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said “Elevating and expanding the V-Series is the next logical step in Cadillac’s growth, including this new race car developed in GT3-specification, enabling us to pursue racing on a more global scale.”
