Looking instantly recognizable, the car has been carefully honed to be more attractive than its predecessor. The front end is pretty evolutionary but bigger changes occur aft of the A-pillar as the model adopts more curvaceous body work and a gently sloping shoulder line. The rear end also appears slightly longer and better integrated into the overall design.

Little is known about the model but it is expected to ride on the MSB platform which uses a combination of high-strength steel and aluminum. This change could enable the car to weigh 91 kg (200 lbs) less than its predecessor.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but Porsche chief engineer Wolfgang Hatz has previously suggested the 2016 Panamera will offer an all-new V6 and V8 engine. There's no word on specifications but the engines are expected to more powerful and sporty than the units used by Audi and Volkswagen.
